Bulk Trash & Landfill Usage

Free Landfill Visit Each Month (1000 pound limit)

Newcastle customers are entitled to one landfill trip per month of up to 1000 pounds for free. The landfill gateperson will require an original copy of your current water bill to redeem the trip. Any amount over 1000 pounds will be charged and billed separately.

For example, if a Newcastle customer brings 100 pounds of trash to the landfill for the free redemption, they will have to wait until the next billing cycle for free service. If the customer instead brought 1200 pounds, they would get the 1000 pounds for free and pay separately for the 200 extra pounds.

Requirements for Free Visit

The scale operators are required to take a copy of the bill showing Newcastle residency and federal/state/tribal identification also showing Newcastle residency. All vehicles entering into the landfill must be tarped or it will be a $10.00 fee.

Bulk Waste Restrictions:

• Maximum of 4 yards of trash will be collected
• Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are accepted, however, freon has to be properly drained by a qualified technician, certification issued and placed on the unit
• Brush must be cut into 4 foot lengths, tied and bundled
• No pieces of concrete or rocks
• Smaller items should be placed in containers
• No large construction or demolition materials
• No hazardous waste
• No batteries, paints, tires, oils or liquid substances
• No dead animal carcasses
