Director’s 100-Mile Challenge
The Director’s 100-Mile Challenge is a community-wide wellness program designed to keep residents active, motivated, and connected. Participants are challenged to walk or run 100 miles in 100 days — starting April 18, 2026, and ending July 26, 2026.
All participants will register through an online registration form. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with important program details. The official Strava group link will be emailed the week the challenge begins to ensure all miles are tracked correctly starting on April 18.
Strava will automatically track miles and display the community leaderboard — no paper logs, no guesswork, just honest results and friendly competition.
As you reach each milestone, you’ll earn exclusive challenge gear sponsored by local businesses:
Tap Out T-Shirt or Keep Going Cooling Towel
Tap Out T-Shirt or Keep Going Drawstring Bag
Tap Out T-Shirt or Keep Going Running Hat
Completion of the Challenge + Finisher’s Shirt
How Milestone Rewards Work
Milestone rewards are based on the highest milestone distance you reach.
-
Participants who reach a milestone and stop at that distance (“Tap Out”) will receive theTap Out T-shirt for that milestone.
-
Participants who continue past a milestone and later stop will receive the Keep Going itemfor the highest milestone they reached.
-
Participants who do not reach a milestone distance will not receive a milestone reward.
Examples:
-
Reach 25 miles and stop → receive the 25-mile Tap Out T-shirt
-
Reach 30 miles total and stop → receive the 25-mile Keep Going Cooling Towel
-
Reach 45 miles total and stop → receive the 25-mile Keep Going Cooling Towel
-
Reach 50 miles and stop → receive the 50-mile Tap Out T-shirt
-
Stop at 49 miles → no 50-mile reward
Participants who complete all 100 miles will receive the Keep Going items from the 25-, 50-, and 75-mile milestones (cooling towel, drawstring bag, and running hat), along with a special Finisher’s Shirt recognizing full completion of the challenge.
You do not have to wait the full 100 days to complete the challenge. Participants may reach 100 miles early; however, prizes may be distributed later due to ordering timelines.
All participants — whether they Tap Out early or complete the full challenge — will be recognized during Parks and Recreation Month on July 31, 2026, celebrating dedication to health, perseverance, and community.
This challenge replaces the former Walk the Trail program, offering a verified, goal-driven experience that builds motivation, accountability, and community connection. Miles may be completed anywhere — in parks, neighborhoods, on trails, on treadmills, or during organized walks and runs.
How It Works
1. Register Online
Sign up through the official registration form. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with program details.
2. Track Your Miles (Two Options)
Strava (Preferred & Verified)
The official Strava group link will be emailed the week the challenge begins. Once joined, log walk, run, or hike activities to have miles tracked automatically and displayed on the community leaderboard.
Participants using Strava are eligible for milestone incentives and the Finisher’s Shirt.
No Tracking App (Self-Reported)
Participants who do not use smartphone tracking may still participate. These participants can update their total miles using the secure entry link included in their confirmation email.
Participants who self-report miles will be recognized upon completion of the full 100 miles; however, milestone incentives are reserved for participants using verified tracking.
3. Start Walking or Running
Tracking begins April 18, 2026. Miles completed before this date will not count toward the challenge.
4. Celebrate Your Success
All participants will be recognized during Parks and Recreation Month on July 31, 2026, with special recognition for those who complete the full 100 miles.
