July 4 Storm Debris Information
Published: Monday, July 6, 2026
Following the July 4 storm that brought high winds and rain to our area, the City of Newcastle has received questions about tree limbs, downed branches, and other storm-related debris.
At this time, residents should make arrangements to handle debris on their own property. The City is not able to begin citywide debris pickup unless an emergency is declared, and even then, state regulations, the City’s burn management plan, and bidding requirements must be followed before debris removal can begin.
Residents with storm damage are encouraged to submit information at https://damage.ok.gov
These reports help document local damage and may be considered as part of any state or county emergency declaration decision.
Residents who have enough acreage to safely burn storm debris must first obtain a burn permit by calling the Newcastle Fire Department at 405-387-5823.
The next bulk trash pickup is scheduled for Aug. 10 east of Highway 62 and Aug. 17 west of Highway 62. Brush must be cut into 4-foot lengths, tied, and bundled, and other restrictions apply. Details are available here: https://newcastleok.gov/services/public-works/bulk-trash-landfill-usage
