Newcastle Homecoming Parade: Sign Up Now for October 17

The City of Newcastle and Newcastle Public Schools invite community groups, businesses, and student organizations to participate in the 2025 Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. Homecoming is a community celebration tied to the Newcastle Racers football program, and entries are now being accepted.

Register your float or entry by Friday, October 3:

Parade Details

• Check-in & Lineup:
  • 7:30–8:30 a.m. School floats (football, class floats, HS & Jr. High)
  • 8:30–9:30 a.m. Business floats, Little League floats, cars
  • Late arrivals will be placed at the end.
• Route: Begins at Newcastle High School, proceeds north on HWY 62/Main St. to 10th Street. Floats end at Veterans Park (big lot); cars end at the Library lot.
• Road Closures: From 9:45–11:15 a.m., all lanes of HWY 62/Main St. will be closed from NW 16th St. to HWY 130.
• Safety: Two walkers are required per float (one on each side). Candy may be thrown to both sides of the street; please aim for sidewalks.

Note: Only parade participant vehicles are allowed in staging areas. Parents dropping off children must park on the east side of the auditorium and walk children to their float. Businesses and HOCO Court will meet at the new parking lot on the south side of the High School.
