Canadian River Bridge Construction Update

From the City Manager's Office, Canadian River Bridge Update:

The manager for the Canadian River Bridge project provided the following information to my office this morning.

During bridge rehabilitation:

• North and South bound lanes will be open during rush hour traffic
• The current phase of rehabilitation will require a single, nighttime lane closure in the southbound direction beginning Thursday at 8:00pm through 6:00am Friday morning.
• Lanes will be shifted during a construction phase later this fall (October/November) once expansion joints have been delievered to the site.  Message boards will be in place prior to this phase.

My office has been assured what our citizens and commuters experienced Monday morning/evening will not happen again.  All four lanes, both directions should remain open during rush hour traffic during the current phase of work.

More information will be provided regarding the next phase of construction this fall when it becomes available.
