NEWCASTLE, OKLAHOMA, FEBRUARY 20, 2024 — The Newcastle Public Works Authority (NPWA), together with MetronFarnier and Goins Enterprise, is excited to launch a city-wide water meter upgrade program. Beginning February 6, 2024, this ambitious project aims to replace every water meter in Newcastle with advanced, efficient models by October 2024. This upgrade underscores NPWA's dedication to improving water service and infrastructure across the city.

City Manager Kevin Self shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "This upgrade signifies a major advancement for Newcastle. Integrating advanced metering technology into our water system not only enhances our infrastructure but also equips our residents with the ability to better manage their water use."

In light of the upcoming changes, Kevin Self added, "Our goal with this meter upgrade is straightforward: to ensure that all Newcastle residents experience improved water service reliability and efficiency. We're working closely with our partners to ensure a smooth transition and minimal disruption to our community."

Key Features of the Upgrade:

  • Efficient Installation: The replacement process is designed to be quick and easy, with water service interruptions expected to last no more than 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Introduction of WaterScope: Residents will have access to WaterScope, allowing for real-time monitoring of water usage and direct alerts for potential leaks.
  • Open Communication: NPWA is committed to transparent communication throughout the upgrade process. Residents with questions are encouraged to call 405-387-4434 for assistance.
